Kid Video

This is a video of the kids just playing at the kitchen table, Monday March 23, 2009.

Baby GQ

Tyler went in for a baby photo shoot on March 4, 2009.... We were looking to get that one great photo we could use for our "family portrait" wall. However, Jackie could not find that one photo.... because she found 7!!!

I love this one - he looks like an angel just bouncing on the clouds...perhaps I should PhotoShop in some wings and a halo?

This picture is Tyler as the spitting image of his Uncle David-look at those cute little feet!! !

Funny story here - about 3.5 seconds after this picture was taken, that metal bathtub (bucket??) went flying away from Tyler - those towels didn't provide much support! Luckily, mommy was just out of the shot, and caught him before his face hit the floor! Not a happy camper after that...

However, I got the baby dressed in his new outfit, and the flying tub incident seemed to be but a distant memory :) Here he is, laughing at mommy biting his toes....

Here is our handsome little man, still showing off those baby feet, and giving us a glimpse into the little boy our Baby Ty is becoming... He even decided to pop his first 2 teeth here! What a surprise that was !!!

And finally, last but certainly not least, the "freshly hatched chick" picture, as I refer to it. Ty loved trying to eat the fluffy blanket - and he was sitting on a small bean bag chair, which I thought was a GREAT idea. I'll have to go look for one of those....

March 6-8 Springfield Trip

On Friday (Mar 6) I went to pick up Gracie from "school" - I didn't get my camera in time, but she was riding a bike around the park outside! Instead, I got this shot of her just running around and going on the slides.... She has a great time here - every day, she comes home with something new to tell me! I think she tends to make things up once in a while...like the day she came and told me that she "pushed Adam"... upon discussion with her teacher, Tamsila, Gracie did not in fact ever push anyone...much less, Adam, who seems to be one of her friends. :)
Our trip to Springfield this past weekend gave the 4 of us a chance to see Danielle, who we haven't seen since...when? I can't even remember, probably around Christmas. Tyler has decided once and for all that he is quite alright with "Papa"... they seem to be friends, no?
Gracie even got to play with a new princess dress from Grandma and Grandpa - isn't she pretty!

She convinced Aunt Danielle to play princess with her...

And Daddy watched,

thankfully not being asked to don a frilly dress!

And I got these great shots of Danielle and Teddy...

Ginger also wanted to stop by and say

"I LICK YOU!!!!!!!"

Tyler and Grandpa were still busy bonding in the other room......

Finally, Sunday evening, Gracie and I took some self-portraits! :)

Till next time!!!!

Our Changing Family

Matt and I have seen so many changes since we moved back to IL... Gracie, living in Springfield, moving to Lisle and displacing Matt's grandma, then buying our first house and having Tyler, Matt's journey through the electronic walls of UIS, my 3 job changes (although, still within Sikich!)... so here is a look back at some of our adventures...

One of the first pictures of our bare house...

..

Then we added some furniture...

THEN - we added some window coverings - starting to look like we live here now! :)

But before we did the house thing, we played with our little girl and readied for our little boy.

This is Jackie and Tyler, 19 weeks..

And then a little further along...

Tyler's first kiss from Gracie!!

I'm not sure she ever really knew what was going on, but to her credit, she called him Tyler even before she'd met him.

Also pre-Tyler, Gracie's first haircut in Lisle - as long as she has a sucker, she's good to go!

Here is a picture of Gracie on her way to school (daycare) the day before she became a big sister!!

She was such a good girl while Matt and I were busy trying to buy a house and have another baby... she really came into her own, and proved that she is an astonishingly flexible and intuitive child.

And here comes Tyler!!!!

Gracie didn't waste any time getting to know her new little brother...

To reassure her that Ty was not taking her place, we took her to the Zoo... this was a lot of fun!! She got to see real lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, and all the really neat animals at the Brookfield Zoo :) Ty was just a few weeks old...and stayed home with Grandma.

Matt and I had a nice time re-living one of our very first dates!!

We had a picture taken at this exact same spot, some 11 years ago...how time flies!!

Tyler Charles was baptized Sunday, September 28, at St. Joan of Arc in Lisle. Grandpa Dave Hensley is his godfather, and Danielle Martin and Kelly Magis are co-godmothers. Ty will be very well-taken-care of! And, Anissa and Paulie made it out from FL to attend the ceremony!

To relax after all the hubbub, Matt and Jackie went to one of Matt's friend's weddings - Mr. John LaRock married Ms. Lesley Heffner...but we felt like the party was just for us!

Along came October - Halloween costumes, playing outside, and the onset of Tyler's breathing treatments....

Well, more to come of this chronological Magis story... hope you've enjoyed so far!

Redneck Weather Station

I'm sure you've seen this in Uncle Tony's email, but I thought it was SO Funny I had to re-post it...
